Grant Writing Workshop

Dr. Annette Greer is offering a grant writing workshop for lay and clergy members of the NC Conference in August, on three consecutive Mondays in that month.  With extensive experience in writing grants and teaching the course to students pursuing careers in public health at East Carolina University, Dr. Greer offers the churches of the NC Conference an opportunity to consider funding for ministries even in an economic downturn.
Workshop will be held August 3, August 10 and August 17, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at Westminster UMC, Kinston. Each workshop will have a different emphasis. Attendance at all three is expected. Lunch will be arranged for a reasonable cost.

UMW School of Christian Mission

The 2009 School of Christian Mission will be held at Methodist University July 22-25. The three study topics are Sudan, Food and Faith, and Giving Our Hearts Away: Native American Survival. The deadline for registration is July 10.  A registration form can be printed from School of Christian Mission.

Workshop on the Holy Sacraments

Dr. Gayle Felton will lead the workshop, “Sacraments, the Means of Grace” to be held at Lake Junaluska July 24-26. This event, designed for clergy and laity, will span the theological and practical considerations of the sacraments from the United Methodist perspective.
